Re: Dungeon 3 Signup and Discussion Thread (Begins September 17)
Hey, I'm happy either way. I do like role guess (probably because it gave me the win in Vendetta 2).
The HP probably solves the problem in a simpler matter. |

Maybe just find out if your HP changed overnight? Maybe just if it went up or down? [/ QUOTE ] This are not powerful enuff. The BIGGEST mistake game designers make is to underestimate the power of unlynchable villagers. |

Re: Dungeon 3 Signup and Discussion Thread (Begins September 17)
ok, here's the problem:
every single role is confirmable. this is similar to the situation where if in theory you had a werewolf game where every single villager was a confirmed villager, you could just lynch the non-confirmed villagers and they'd be wolves. there is no way to fix this, given the multiple roles. what you need to do is this: Dungeon 3: The Barbarian Wars 6 Evil Barbarians 1 Mystic 1 Paladin 16 Good Barbarians not as exciting, certainly, but balanced? Yes |

Re: Dungeon 3 Signup and Discussion Thread (Begins September 17)
alternatively:
7 Evil Barbarians 1 Mystic 1 Paladin 1 Cleric 1 Assassin 15 Good Barbarians to add in the more interesting roles standardize everyone at 100 hp. the evil barbarians can CHOOSE how much damage to do (0, 10, 30) with a cap of 120 damage per turn. Each barbarian can do whatever they want to do. Evil Barbarians: Barbarian 1-4 can attack good barbarian, dealing 30, 30, 30, 10 Barbarian 5 can attack someone random for 10 Barbarian 6 can attack someone random for 10 ingenious |

Re: Dungeon 3 Signup and Discussion Thread (Begins September 17)
Luckay - with an unknown number of each role, and no knowledge of how much (if any) damage a player receives at night, no role is "confirmed". Especially if there's the possibility of a role NOT existing in the game. Bonus points if the wolves receive a full role list.

Especially if there's the possibility of a role NOT existing in the game. Bonus points if the wolves receive a full role list. [/ QUOTE ] the problem is that there are no ways for the evils to fake any good role currently. So it's impossible to fake something not in the game. If you give evil the ability to do additional damage AND give them the whole role list, then that's imbalanced too. If you give the evil the ability to fake roles but not give them the role list, they will still lose badly. Think of this game as this: At the beginning of the game, there will be an unknown amount of roles. The following roles are: Villager A Villager B Villager C Villager D Villager E Villager F Villager G Villager H Villager I with an unknown amount of all now the problem is, in a normal game, all villagers are Villager A, so when evil fakes villager, they can fake villager A however, in this game, you have to do something like fake villager D, and if there's a villager D in the game, then it's known that one of the people claiming villager D is bad wait, cancel everything I said above evils need some way to simulate all abilities without doing an absurd amount of damage each night that's how you balance the game =p ok, it could work.... |

Evils must be able to fake roles properly. [ QUOTE ] however, in this game, you have to do something like fake villager D, and if there's a villager D in the game, then it's known that one of the people claiming villager D is bad [/ QUOTE ] I believe Dungeon 2 fixed this, however, since evils cannot do the above, they're screwed anyway. |

Nez,
1. Out. So very very out. 2. Anybody willing to take on modding this kind of game, in the past or now, has my ultimate respect. My god, man. 3. Still out. Regular werewolf tortures my brain enough, I'm not nearly smart enough for this. |
