Leave short stacking the way it is.
There are few good short stackers, most of them just give money to everyone.
Alot of them stay at the table after they double, and just bust a few hands later.

I understand you want to take their money 100BB at a time, but it's the same to me if they put 20BB on the table and give it away 5 times. The money is still being given away.

The games are not as good as they were before anyways, why make them this much harder by trying to eliminate something just because you are annoyed with it.

Leave it at 20BBs and raise the rathole limit to an hour.

Pro SSers will be forced to play less or rathole less.

Donks who are buying in short just cuz they suck/don't know any better will still be able to play at limits way above their head.

Win/win.

[/ QUOTE ]

Best idea yet, maybe even make it 2 hours.

You know I kind of get the arguments about short stackers ruining the action at higher stakes, but personally I kind of like them on the micro and low stakes tables. My experience is that playing solid TAG works pretty well against them, especially if you're in position, it's almost like free money and even when you lose it's not too big a hit unless you happen to make a mistake OOP and have someone else re-up you.

Be curious to hear other opinions relative to the lower stakes.

The easiest solution here is to add deep tables at every level with a minimum 50bb buy in. Then everybody will have a choice of where to play.

[/ QUOTE ]

Full Tilt tried that and nobody plays those games. The table sit empty everyday.

As was stated earlier, if the thing that is bothering everyone is the ratholing then you should petition Stars to make the time limit longer for leaving a table and coming back with less money.

So you dont care if they give you money all day long because it pisses you off that they are unethical?

You' d rather struggle with good players as long as they are ethical?

PS...Since the vast majority of them suck, what exactly are they ratholing? They are bleeding money. They might take it off one table but they give it right back and then some on another table. Their money is going into the poker economy, they are not taking money out of it.

[/ QUOTE ]

I'd rather have fish buy in for 50 instead of 20 and get rid of all the nit shortstackers that rathole.

Go to a live casino, rathole winnings and buy in again for the minimum 30 minutes later repeatedly and see what happens.

[/ QUOTE ]

Its quite easy to do at the 2 largest card rooms in the world (Commerce and Bike). They encourage it!! If you double up, request a table change, they REQUIRE you to buy in for the minimum.

At WinStar, they require you to wait 1 hour. Not so different from online (where its 30 mins most places) like people are trying to say.

Ive seen people change tables and immediately buy in short again numerous times and nobody said a word.

Raising the time limit is probably the best solution from the prospective of poker players that dont like ratholers, but I still doubt that they will do it.

Why would they want to put limits on the amount of players at their tables? The shortstacker is sitting their tapping his fingers on his desk wanting to play but he cant because of the time limit requirement. This is costing the poker site money and they arent going to like anything thats costing them money
