I don't mean to come off like a douche or anything, but you really should know that this is a super easy call no debate. I mean, MSNL and SSNL could have answered this pretty easily.

This is somewhat standard call because I'd say his range is TT-AA, AK and AQ

[/ QUOTE ]

How on earth is his range that narrow? I have already said in this thread, regulars at midstakes including myself are very capable of doing cts-style 4-bet shoves with A-xs, lower pairs, sometimes even suited connectors.

So i would expect a 5knl reg who is somewhat 'spewy' to be very likely to attempt something like this at least some of the time. And it is a damn good one too, cos OP and others in this thread are considering folding QQ and AK! LOL!

edit: how is his range this wide??

You need to have 40.8% equity to call this shove.
If he shoves QQ+,AKo then you are 40.2% to win so this seems like an easy call. If he his 4bets is mostly shoves it is most likely it is hands like AK. More ofetn than AA,KK that he wants a call with. If you add in JJ to this mix is is a supereasy call.

If you are a frequent 3bettor then a shove with a range like
AQ+,TT+ good against you especially if the first raise is from a high percentage opening position CO+.

thanks, this is a very good response. I'm pretty sure he isn't shoving here with JJ, it just would make very little sense, his range is most likely QQ-AA, AK. So I guess my call is neutral EV. However, I think the problem with this analysis is that his range will be heavily weighted toward AA/KK, IDK. Either way, thanks for the math behind the call. RESULTS: I called.

cts, how is that a bad move if you tanked w/ KK?

dave, snap call, obv. sorry you lost. if it weren't such an obvious squeeze spot for you it would be a lot closer.

As the other poster commented, we were 40% against JUST QQ/AK, and I'd say that's an extremely tight range. If you squeeze with any regularity which I'm sure you do, then people are going to 4 bet shove here with TT/JJ, AQ, sometimes worse. You're just a large favorite against a typical range in this spot. I think with JJ it's a tougher decision, but it's still a call IMO. TT is extremely close and depends how often you think he'll shove with stuff like AQ or 99. Again, wasn't trying to come off like an ass, but this is a pretty trivial call.

And so you called, what did he have?
