Mods,

Is it ok to start a new thread with other peoples' trip reports/experiences about MySpace?

Brian,

Dude, please, please, please start a blog!

Man, if you started a blog just using your already written posts as the first few entries, it would quickly become VERY popular - AND WOULD LIKELY GET YOU BOTH AD REVENUES AND LAID BY HOT CHICKS SINCE YOU'D BE AN ONLINE SEMI-CELEBRITY!!!!!

Note that when most people talk about starting a blog, I tell them "sure, go ahead, it's a nice outlet to express yourself, but don't expect anyone to give a crap about most of that stuff, few people will read it." You, however, are an exception to the rule. This would definitely be very popular.

The reason is not just the online dating, but the fact that you're going for anything and everything and being very honest about it.

DO IT, DO IT, DO IT!!!!

I was thinking about this. It would probably have to contain no pics, no names (no slip ups), and you shouldn't have the chicks you bang on your friends list. I'm not the final word, and this is nothing official from Mat. I'm just speculating about what rules might have to be in place if Mat were to allow it to be restarted.

MrWookie,

So basically it'd have to be like the original thread except sucky? I agree though, there should be an anti-trainwreck policy for a new thread... no posting your profile, no screen names, no specific ages/locations... but pics need to stay.

I definitely think Brian got lax about the trainwreck possibility. It was bound to happen sooner or later with the amount of disclosure he provided.

I could imagine some compromise being posting one pic that's not the girl's main myspace pic, but I'm still not getting my hopes up about this flying.

Say, someone who's more versed in myspace than I am, is it possible to hide, say, JUST your friends list from people who aren't your friends?

Mr Chewbacca,

I think the only way to hide your friends list is if your profile is private, in which case the rest of your profile is hidden.

There are style sheet scripts that can hide parts of your profile, such as a friend list. But they could still be accessed by typing your myspace ID directly into someone else's friend list URL.
