Toots & The Maytals - Pressure Drop - For some reason Jack Johnson and Ben Harper were on stage. Ben is a giant on his own and you would think the weird guitar solo would be out of place, but it wasn't. Toots made it work because he's just a great performer.

Nice I'm a huge Toots fan, I've seen him 5 times live. If people ever get a chance to see him live, he is way better than the times I've seen him on tv. He feeds off the dancing reggae crowds...he's the James Brown of reggae.

He's an amazing live performer. He's better live than in the studio. I've seen him three times now and walk away so impressed every time.

Wow, some great posts here.

Beck was cool, George/Paul is amazing. Radiohead was really cool, and the Elvis Costello thing is pretty awesome.

Frank Zappa was really good too.

Tom Waits...... you either hate him or love him. About 90% are going to choose the first option I'd imagine.

If you skipped the Simon and Garfunkel link, do yourself a favor and give it a chance. I was never into S&G, but these guys hit this one on the screws.

I remember a very old episode hosted by Rodney Dangerfield, with the J Giels Band as musical guest, and I remember Peter Wolfe and the boys kicking some serious tail.

Off of the top of my head:

Queen, Under Pressure - Freddie's voice was so amazing, even moreso live.

Rage Against the Machine "Bulls On Parade" epic but censored. Then their second song was struck altogether since they wanted to protest the host, Steve Forbes.

#2 was Ashlee Simpson b/c she's such an annoying dimwit that her lip syncing debale contributed to her disappearance.

#3 Public Enemy (a great episode w/ Jordan as the host)

Damm, a lot of good bands on this list: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of...musical_guests
