Re: Early Heisman favorites
[ QUOTE ]
I was objecting to you calling him a "nobody." No, Kolb didn't win the Heisman but he was a high draft pick (and will probably be a good NFL QB). [/ QUOTE ] Nobody might be a little harsh, but where is Timmy Chang now? Some QBs from smaller schools pan out and some dont. Also, theres no telling what Kolb is gonna do because hell be waiting behind McNabb for a few seasons at least. Just because ESPN is saying he will be good doesnt mean anything. |

Re: Early Heisman favorites

Ill admit that I dont know why the game was scheduled, but Ill also admit that if Brennan wins the Heisman its a travesty. They only scored 17 against a 6-7 Bama team who finished in the bottom 3rd of the SEC. And Bama did not have a great D last year either. Look at their schedule. No. Col @La Tech @UNLV Charleston Southern @Idaho Utah State @SJ State NM State Fresno State @Nevada BSU Washington I guess the toughest game is a toss up between BSU/Wash. Either way theres a pretty good chance that UH doesnt even play a ranked opponent. And to the Kolb reference, he didnt win the Heisman. You dont give props to any 1A team for beating a 1AA team, that is ridiculous. A lot and I mean a lot of BCS QBs can light No. Col. up for 6 TDs. And Colt plays the whole game to right? And they dont call the dogs off like a BCS team would do. [/ QUOTE ] He put up 6 TDs in the first half and then sat the whole second half. |

Re: Early Heisman favorites
Whatever, [censored] this "it's the system" garbage.
No one outside of Atlanta bitched when Mr. Run-the-Ball-28-Times-Per-Game got the Heisman because of his stupid career stats. |

Re: Early Heisman favorites
Did not know he only played the first half, maybe I should stfu. But this "its the system" garbage rings true for some people, ie Tedford QBs, Spurrier QBs, Weinke, etc. I dont really have a problem with Brennan himself. I have a problem giving the Heisman to a guy who never played real competition. Call it unfair if you want but his numbers wouldnt be as good in any BCS conference and his team wouldnt be good. Seriously, you dont think Chad Henne could put up huge numbers in the WAC?
