Seeing how goofy is really a nit, I would think the TAG would had folded a T by the turn. But since he didn't I can safely say he's drawing. And there is no way in hell that villain is value-shoving a Q here. FWIW this is one of the few spots where I make a thin call and don't feel bad about it.

I don't think this is a WA/WB situation at all.

Limping UTG then calling a big bet is an odd play, especially for someone with TAGgy stats. His preflop play defines his range for me (if he's given a weakish impression he's probably pretty straightforward)
I don't see many hands involving a T that he would do that with - AT if he thinks it's a steal, JT if it's a lucky / variation hand or something, TT looking for a set and that's about it. He's probably playing most pocket pairs like this figuring to break you if he hits. Aside from that, maybe AK. I'm not sure how much probability I give to him playing suited connectors OOP but it's low. So let's say range on the flop = 22+, AT+,JTs,76s I don't have Stove on this machine. By the turn he's dropped pairs <8 and AJ and 76 unless it's diamonds. That leaves 88,TT,QQ,KK,AA,AQ that are beating you with you ahead of just 99 AT JT and 76 The turn is a blank unless he was commiting to a showdown with small pairs (which only occurred to me because I played too much 6 max limit). The river means AT and JT are now beating you. The call call push line also looks he is tryig to milk you with a set or overpair. A turn call is scary as hell, even with a two flush on board. As I see it he wants this pot to swell without scaring you off so when he pushes you are screwed. Fold. |

AJ and KJ aren't gonna fold the flop.

AJ and KJ aren't gonna fold the flop. [/ QUOTE ] AJ - you could be right, some people do think a gutshot and some filthy pair outs are worth playing (usually they play more than 20% of their hands though). KJ - I didn't include KJ in my range for villain so to me it doesn't really matter if it's beating us. You think a kind of TAGgy player is going to limp an easily dominated hand UTG and then call a 7x bet? |

i could see a limp call w/ AXs pretty often, which means river is a call

I was talking with a friend about the hand on AIM and he said I should check the flop and call pretty much anything down, almost no matter what comes, the reasoning being that a.) I'm WA/WB b.) [/ QUOTE ] Whaaaaa? This is like the least WA/WB board ever. |

he called you 54 bucks on the turn. I seriously doubt he had a flush draw or a Tx. most likely you were crushed. good fold.
