I mentioned in another post that I'm visiting family/friends and I'm not in Dallas where a) I wouldn't have needed a piece, b) I wouldn't have had this story because I-75 has an invisible police-ridding forcefield around it.

FWIW, I didn't realize it was a construction zone for good reason.

About 2 minutes before, I had endured driving on the highway while cones/barricades blocked all but one lane (and about half of the only lane open, almost forcing me to drive on the shoulder) for about 5 miles while there was all kinds of [censored] in the one lane and I swear to god I passed a smoke machine or something halfway through that left me totally blinded for a second and was incredibly confusing considering the closed lanes looked perfectly fine. My friend and I honestly wondered if we accidentally started driving in the one lane that was closed while the others were fine, instead of vice-versa since we were the only car in the area.

So finally the one lane driving ends, and so I assumed so did the construction. So I pick up the pace a bit (usual speed limit is 75, so barely even speeding), failing to realize that the assorted cone I'd pass every 10 seconds or so was actually a sign that we were still in the construction zone.

I bet the ticket is worth the feeling of relief you got when he let you go

I don't think he's ever been thanked so much for giving a $200 ticket. That being said, I was surprisingly not nervous during the entire ordeal. And I'm not trying to be a bad ass, I almost got in trouble about 9 months ago at school after smoking in my room (brilliant!) and having cops come and search moments after I got tipped off and hid everything elsewhere. During that experience I'm pretty impressed I didn't piss my pants.

Oh, and my friend the passenger is on probation too. After having an open-house party. Seriously...

And f u fees, what am I supposed to call it?

beat: didnt get to see it cos the cop stopped us too soon
beat: i was a huge loser in teh game overall

hey, uh, the whole "don't arouse police suspicion when you're high or holding" is a pretty good rule of thumb, so you should keep it in mind

[/ QUOTE ]

Really? Thanks, I had never really thought of this.
