Re: How is the 100-200 game in Bellagio?
[ QUOTE ]
10/20 NL you play $1K pots all the time. Pretty much any pot that goes past the flop. But your point is fair, of course. I'm purely speaking from an action-junky perspective. I know there are better games in the casino for me to play from an EV perspective than 1/2 FL. [/ QUOTE ] The general factor is 8, not 5. 10/20 NL would be like 80/160 limit. So it is close, but the 100/200 fixed is the bigger game. |

Re: How is the 100-200 game in Bellagio?
The often overlooked element that you have to keep in mind when playing pretty high live limit holdem (Commerce/Bellag.) is the general chaotic atmosphere of these poker rooms. If you have not played alot of live big-room poker, it is really tough to maintain perfect concentration with the commotion going on around you ( noise, spilled drinks, bad dealers, abusive players, controversial floor decisions, blind-posting issues, fat-asses hitting the back of your chair, hot and/or loud and/or obnoxious women, etc.). I still laugh when I think of PokerBob's description of playing in the Commerce for the first time.
I would never recommend sitting 1-2 at the Bellag unless you had played a good amount (i.e., at least one year) playing 20-40/30-60 live. It is very different from the online experience. That being said, I have never found the Bellag. 1-2 that tough, but I really only play it during WSOP time and try to avoid the 'main' game. TSP |

Re: How is the 100-200 game in Bellagio?
I use 6 for uncapped and 4 for capped. Based on PT stdev with considerations for fatter tails in NL session distributions over the short-term. Is that closer?

Re: How is the 100-200 game in Bellagio?
So sounds like 50/100 is my game if I want a little fixed limit fun where I at least have a chance of being a breakeven player but also can't find a bankroll for the game in my sofa cushions. Thanks, guys.

[/ QUOTE ] Both from reading and general observation, although I've played very little NL. In some cases it is a little off. I know the 20/40 fixed games have been bigger games than 2/5 NL games I've been in. But 8 is closer than 5. What do you think it is? |
