I'm pretty sure that on the flop you said to yourself:

"I'm ahead, but I'm gonna lose. I just know it"

Cause mathematically that's a beat, but we all know that in reality, you're never winning that hand.

OP,
Vomit. The months where you take all your standard beats when hella deep sucks so bad. Good call quitting after.

fold pre flop

I am villain on this hand, and honestly I think hero played this hand pretty poorly. 77 did not beat anything in my 3bet range/4bet call. It was only not dominated against AK, especially once I call a 4bet. Only a flop with a 7 would you be able to play without major guessing for your stack. And Hero was playing well until about 30 min before this hand, he was already tilting severely. The following hand was just prior to our big one.

FullTiltPoker Game #3397885558: Table Omni (heads up) - $1/$2 - No Limit Hold'em - 4:19:25 ET - 2007/08/29
Seat 1: PokerSoccer ($1,736.30)
Seat 2: zachucsb ($406.60)
zachucsb posts the small blind of $1
PokerSoccer posts the big blind of $2
The button is in seat #2
*** HOLE CARDS ***
Dealt to zachucsb [8d 6d]
zachucsb raises to $6
PokerSoccer raises to $22
zachucsb calls $16
*** FLOP *** [5c 6s 7h]
PokerSoccer bets $32
zachucsb has 15 seconds left to act
zachucsb raises to $100
PokerSoccer has 15 seconds left to act
PokerSoccer raises to $230
zachucsb raises to $384.60, and is all in
PokerSoccer calls $154.60
zachucsb shows [8d 6d]
PokerSoccer shows [9h Qh]
*** TURN *** [5c 6s 7h] [4h]
*** RIVER *** [5c 6s 7h 4h] [Jc]
zachucsb shows a straight, Eight high
PokerSoccer shows Queen Jack high
zachucsb wins the pot ($812.70) with a straight, Eight high
*** SUMMARY ***
Total pot $813.20 | Rake $0.50
Board: [5c 6s 7h 4h Jc]
Seat 1: PokerSoccer (big blind) showed [9h Qh] and lost with Queen Jack high
Seat 2: zachucsb (small blind) showed [8d 6d] and won ($812.70) with a straight, Eight high

No matter the history our the preflop error, I agree it was a real cooler for you. I fist pumped yelled when you called, then choked when I saw your hand, and then jumped up when the turn hit.
