I can see how a good and tricky opponent may check behind with AA or KK, but not him.

i mean honestly who raises 4 on top, thats not even a 3-bet-- why would he have 1010 here? why would he play it like that? with a minbet thats obv giving both players the odds to call with so many scary cards that are possible on the flop? why do you check the flop? why not put out a continuation bet? any money you will make comes from a player who a) thinks your bluffing b) somewhat hit the flop... you think he has a set on the turn- why not aa or kk or qq-- the hand is so odd and you played it so weird and you tried to extract value and when it came to that value you freaked-- why are u going to play it like that if you don't want him to get all his chips in? a little bet like that pre with a huge reraise on the turn screams to me an overpair

Why would a player that I described as average and not tricky check QQ, KK, or AA on this flop. This is highly unlikely. My bet on the turn was designed to keep him in with a hand like 77 or AK which he might get stubborn with. And like I said I did call but is it really wrong to consider what hes holding before I put my money in the pot? Not just, I HAVE A SET!!! YAYYY!!! Clunk.

If by scary line you mean "this guy is shipping me his money with a wide range that I am ahead of" then, yes it is a scary line.

maybe the same reason you checked your trips . . . its also highly unlikely he holds 10s or 8s with that minreraise into a raised pot-- but your a genius and you should have probably folded that set because he obv has the nuts

I already said I won the pot when he flipped over 33, but I think you are giving the average player too much credit. They do not slowplay AA and especially not KK in a 3 way pot.

Well we'll agree to disagree, but like I said naturally my range should be more accurate since I play with the guy alot, and I feel as though it is very unlikely he does this with AA and KK.

i see what your getting at... but this isn't even a question- at that time your getting around 3-1 to call and your ahead way more than 25 percent of the time-- you can think about what he has all day but its an autocall the way you played; i don't understand the hostility towards everyones post- if you lose, its a cooler but you should concentrate more on making the right call and obv this is all day as ike said-- "you have to make the best play each time based on odds and ranges"

OK, I agree, and not hostile just seemed like some of the posts could of been put more constructively.
