Well I learned my lesson here. Im done with betting on sports. It disgusted me that I was pissed that the seahawks didnt cover the spread when I should of been happy that they won the game period (I grew up/ was in Seattle tonight). Not only that but because of the large sum of money I lost on the game Im no longer a Seahawks fan, which is saying a lot seeing as I was a hardcore fan for a good 3 years. [censored] Shaun Alexander's pansy find-a-gap running that did jack [censored] in the game and Hasselbecks horrible performance as usual. I cant stand the emotional roller coaster the seahawks put their fans on.

GO BEARS!! haha

seriously beating sports is insanely hard. beating poker is easy. in addition, stocks are easy because the market has an upward trend over time....u tell me where u wanna play.

This is only related to the time value of money and not to risk.

I agree with this. Beating sports is very difficult. The people you are betting against are smart and are still in business mainly because they make money with their lines and vigs. It's not easy...but it can be done.

I think there are plenty of people that can win at poker, and while there are some that can win at sports betting in the long haul, that number is smaller than in poker. The reason is the opponents.

But I also know some great sports bettors that are poor poker players, and vice versa too. I don't think the two skills (beating poker and sports betting) are perfectly correlated. Some people's skills and talents may be better suited for one or the other. There are also many that are only beating poker by a little, and if they have a similar skill level in sports betting, then they can't beat sports. The vig in sports is higher relatively than poker.
