I think high-stakes headsup limit/sh players have more pride than any other species of poker player.

Not totally sure about this, but here's my guess:

There's so much variance and bad beats constantly put on each other that over time the hatred for the other builds up over a long session.

this sounds like me except my hate is for LH in general and not the other players
