Re: 2 years of internet poker... (Current blog and recap)
ggbman,
how much did you doubt your ability and change your style during your 225K breakeven spell? |

Congrats on your success! I still remember ridiculing your play in a mid-limit hand on 2+2 over a year ago but noting that you generally think well and are open to learning. I only wish that I could learn so well.

Re: 2 years of internet poker... (Current blog and recap)
My playing style has gotten gradually tighter since the long breakeven spell. As far as my ability, i didn't doubt it for a second. I knew that i was playing suboptimally in several spots and would need to turn that around as much as possible, but i knew my A- game would make me a big winner in the games i was playing.
Anyone who runs very poorly for 100k hands will play worse. It's important to accept that and just deal with it as best you can, and focus on getting your game back to the point where you are playing your best as much as possible. People who haven't run horrible for extended periods of time might not be able to relate to how much if affects your mentality and your game, you just need to be mentally tough and fight through it, that was basically always my eprspective. |

Re: 2 years of internet poker... (Current blog and recap)
Thanks for another great post. I really enjoy reading them, and echo the sentiments others have voiced about how well you are handling everything. You did remind me of one of the funner things one of my buddies and I used to do. Try combining the baking and the tennis, but at night, under the lights. Good times. Just don't let your coach catch you....unless he's cool with it ....
Anyway, best of luck and continued success. Thanks again for the blogs. |

[ QUOTE ]
I'll try to recount this as best as possible... When i started playing limit as my main game, i had about a 700 BB bankroll for 2-4. ( I OWNED $10 SNG's!) I moved to 3-6 with about 1000 BB's, to 5-10 with about 800. I moved to 10-20 with about 700-800, 15-30 with about 400-500 i think. I later moved back down to 5-10 with a 3800 BB bankroll, but i only left myself 10 of that online to work with. I moved to 10-20 with 900 BB's, 20-40 with 1000 BB's, and 30-60 with 950 or so BB's. I took some shots at 100-200 with 500 BB's or so, and i also played some higher games like 250-500 with around 500 BB's, which is really just taking a shot there. So i definitly never played a stake elvel with 300 BB's. [/ QUOTE ] How many hands a month did you roughly play during this first 6 month-or-so period where you were moving up the small stakes? |
