Did you think about leaving before the trial? Would you have had enough money to live comfortably in another country? Did the government freeze all of your assets?
What's the D.A. who went after you doing now, is he still a D.A. or just a regular citizen?

OP,

Did you ever try to talk to the guards? Did they treat every inmate like crap or could they tell the difference between the murderers and the white-collar people.

This story reminds me of 25th hour in a way. So I'll ask:
what did you do the last day before you went into jail?

Would it ever be possible to have a laptop computer?

What kinds of programs were offered and did you use any of them?

Great thread.

Overall, how did the guards treat you? Did they treat other inmates differently (e.g. according to their crime, length of sentence, etc.)?

How long did it take you to get a job after getting out?

OP,
Thanks a lot for the thread. Very interesting and entertaining read.

My question is simply how the hell do people get away with smoking weed in prison?

xx,

Kind of a minor question but what percentage of inmates do you think smoke? Is it close to 100%? I would bet it's way up there when guys really have nothing better to do all day than cultivate their habit (as you indicated doing). Was smoking outdoors only? If so, how many times per day could you go?

Thanks.

It can't really be 100% can it?

I've never smoked one cigarette in my life and if I went to prison I know a lot of things about me would change but I'm pretty sure that would not be one of them because I already have enough breathing issues when I'm just around smoke.

Sounds like you'd be forced to start smoking something else in prison, Bob.
