Anyone take Hyrdrocodone? or Vicodin

My roomate was heavily addicted to vicodin for a while. He would do anywhere from 7-14 a day. It also led him into oxycontin and then heroin.

seriously, wtf's the deal with acetaminophen? it's like the government and the pillmakers decided "okay, this is the least effective pain reliever, and the worst for you, so... we'll make it over-the-counter. and hydrocodone is pretty good, so we'll make it prescription. and then the really effective stuff, we'll just make illegal!" pumping cheap crap for profit and not actually really relieving anyone's pain.

i made myself quit after that. pain was mostly gone but a part of me def wanted the drugs. my next 2 checkups the doc straight up asked me if i wanted more pain pills and it was very hard to say no. i still remember walking, er hobbling, out of the office and berating myself for not getting more pills.

When we moved my Nana into a nursing home they wouldn't let her bring any of her medications since they were taking over everything. Cleaned out her medicine cabinet and score! Vicodin and Percocet!

What was I supposed to do, throw them out?

You should probably be taking Norco - as mentioned previously it is 10/325, and you can break them in half if you want.

I also have chronic pain after being hit by a truck 12 yrs ago on a motorcycle (my lower leg was snapped in two - now orthopedically healed but haven't had a pain-free day since). I have taken a variety of narcotic analgesics over the years. Chronic use even for something as 'safe' as hydrocodone can be horrible (for me at least), like going in and out of mini-withdrawals constantly, every day.

Chronic pain sucks the life out of you.

As everyone else said, you HAVE to be careful with that amount of acetaminophen. Try to get some oxycodone of some form and you'll like it much more and your liver will actually survive.
