"$1 for stealing the blinds."
I don't do this, but I usually tip 2-3 bucks as a good dealer is leaving. |

I tip the same buck for a tiny pot or a monster pot, so I figure the blind steal is worth a buck as well.

I tip less or not at all when I'm down. However, I definitely make exceptions when the dealer is very talented. I know its illogical and that the dealer shouldn't suffer for my bad luck, but its really just because I feel obligated to tip more when I'm ahead. Hopefully, my good tips when I'm ahead balance out for my reduced tips when I'm down.
Also, as far as I can tell, dealers don't expect tips from someone having a losing session. I would be happy to tip the same when I am winning or losing. Unfortunately, even though the dealers who are working while I am losing would appreciate a modest tip, I believe that the dealers who are working when I am winning would view me as a cheap skate to tip modestly. Here's an idea. All poker players agree to stop tipping, to save every pressure buck earned. Then all the dealers with half a brain can find other jobs leaving only the morons who can't even get a job at McDonald's. See how much that costs you when they can't read hands and push pots to the wrong person, or burn and turn too early causing you to lose a pot you would have won...you get what you pay for (and yes I agree incompetence should not be rewarded however we were all new at our jobs at one time or another.)

Don't forget the dollar for getting the card under the button without knocking it over.

I generally tip a buck. If the pot is VERY large, 2. If I pickup the blinds, no tip.
Unless I really like or hate the dealer then things may change especially if they keep their own tips. |

Considering the work I've done for minimum wage (no tips) yeah I don't think they'd have a problem finding dealers. [/ QUOTE ] Yeah...I'ld love to play at a casino where the majority of dealers are either high school kids or adult losers. |
