Re: Calculating LSU\'s Odds to win National Title
Naj,
[ QUOTE ] Sorry for the hijack. My point remains that LSU will be bigger faves v All-but-Ducks imho. [/ QUOTE ] I agree with this. [ QUOTE ] I disagreed with the poster who said *any* of those 3 were better than ASU. [/ QUOTE ] Assuming this is talking about me, can you point out where I said this? |

Re: Calculating LSU\'s Odds to win National Title
Earlier posters said ASU would play a B12 team in Holiday Bowl, not me, I took their word for it, I certainly didn't look as it seemed reasonable to me.
We seem to agree that a 1-loss Kansas could play 1 or 2-loss ASU not in the Fiesta Bowl. 1-loss Okla you are right, but the other posts were willing to *specifically* back that risk, in fact that's the risk they wanted. If LSU and Oregon lose, Okla [or Kansas or Miz] wins out, I'm not sure how Okla v ASU is completely unlikely. ASU will have a big add'tl win, 1st in P10 will leapfrog a 2-loss LSU team, plus 2 B12 teams that have lost, plus Oregon obvs. ASU's SoS is way over Ohio and WVa and will only increase with wins over Zona and USC. I thot your major point was that LSU could def lose before BCS game? I'll take 75-1 that Asu meets B12 in BCS Title game for $10, pls. |

[ QUOTE ]
are you trying to say that football is a game that can be analyzed as if it were a syllogism? [/ QUOTE ] I would say it's pretty close. Many sports fans using personal subjective heuristics and opinions would do much better to think of teams as simple power ratings for purposes of favorite-guessing. You may be some super-expert, I don't know. I'm just saying that most people aren't. Your opinions are at odds with the educated consensus, so I'm curious what it is that makes you believe as you do. (If you are TLT then no need to respond as I already know how you feel.) |

Re: Calculating LSU\'s Odds to win National Title
1. I don't know who "TLT" is.
2. Are you suggesting that, because team A beats team B, and team B beats team C, that team A will beat team C? I disagree with that conclusion: the games I play do not adhere to such simplistic approaches--else nobody could make any money at it. Anyway, who wants to argue about it? You bets your money, and I bets mine. -c |

1. I don't know who "TLT" is. [/ QUOTE ] Uh-huh. I can't speak for the rest of the board, but you're gonna have to establish a lot more credibility before we stop assuming that you're his sock puppet. (interestingly, as soon as someone called you out, you start capitalizing your posts properly as if we didn't notice how your initial posts were written) |
