Re: Your opinion of OSU - UM game
da,
"For the record, I thought OSU was clearly better but not dominant." I agree 100%. I'm refering to those we are saying it could have gone either way, tOSU was fortunate w/ penalties, etc. And I'm not saying UM isn't the #2 team. I honestly don't know. But I would prefer someone else getting a shot against the tOSU monster. USC (homer) and then ARK, UF, UM again. |

"Also, let's not pretend that the fanboys of the pretenders aren't rooting against UM for their own team's benefit."
Pat, I was rooting for UM. I dislike tosu's program a ton. As a USC fan I didn't care; someone had to lose. I fully acknowledge that USC blew it and won't complain if they don't get to play for it. If they do, we got lucky and hope we can somehow outscheme the buckeyes. I do think tOSU is far and away the best CFB team this year, however. |

[ QUOTE ]
nah...Illinois was their worst game this game wan't Ohio State's worst, but it was definitely close [/ QUOTE ] I don't count that since they just did horrible playcalling with no intention of trying to score. You do have an argument, but OSU did everything possible to lose this game. |

Re: Your opinion of OSU - UM game
If Chad Henne doesn't completely overthrow Manningham in the first hald its 28-21 at halftime and the results of this poll shift towards "Toss-up."
[ QUOTE ] [ QUOTE ] tOSU played their best game and won by 3 points at home. UM played quite a bit less than their best and lost by 3 points on the road. Both teams got breaks. Let's play it on a neutral field with decent turf and see who wins. [/ QUOTE ] That's funny. I thought it was OSU's worst game. [/ QUOTE ] Putting 42pts up on out offense disqualifies osu's performance from worst of the year talk. Clearly not 100% though. |

Re: Your opinion of OSU - UM game
I didn't think Ohio State necessarily looked better than Michigan. It seemed like this game was one personal foul away from being tied or Michigan taking it.

re: the grass on the field.
Both teams played on the same field. This is a moot point. However, I will say the one thing that made slightly smile was seeing the osu students tearing up $600,000 worth of tuff three weeks after it was put down. |

Re: Your opinion of OSU - UM game
I have a lot more respect for Michigan after this game than before. I think they are the #2 team in the nation. But please no BCS rematch. They had their shot. I rematch would make that game meaningless.
While I think they're #2, with only 12 games played there's no way to know if they really are better than USC/Florida/Arkansas. |

Re: Your opinion of OSU - UM game
I'm reasonably confident OSU is the better team, but it was not dominant. Sure they could've won easier without fumbled snaps, but Henne also missed a couple TD's w/ guys running wide open. Now you can get into nittish arguments about the fumbled snaps involving more luck than the QB goofing up, but the point is it's not difficult for me to envision UM winning 3-4 games out of 10 on a neutral field.

Re: Your opinion of OSU - UM game
[ QUOTE ]
[ QUOTE ] UM needed two botched snaps for the game to even be close. [/ QUOTE ] Are mistakes not part of the game? I mean, I could count up all of Michigan's mistakes and then say "see, Ohio St got all of those mistakes from Michigan and still only won by 3 AT HOME!!" but whats the point of that? [/ QUOTE ] This is your classic fallacy Assani. The point is that it's unreasonable to expect two botched snap turnovers a game from OSU, yesterday was an outlier in that regard. |
