How about...

every time your team wins an event, you get points. And if they lose the mole gets points. You also get points for getting answers right on the mole test. And only 1 mole can get axed and the groups combine if one gets axed, person with the most points at the end wins?

I would play either way and think both would be fun, but I think, if we could get the rules set up correctly, it would be better based more closely off the show.

The Mole as a TV show had intrinsic flaws that could not make this game work without money.

One of those flaws was the the outcome of the games did not matter to the Mole - win or lose they were not going home and were not taking more money home. In fact there were many games during a season where the mole wouldn't be involved at all.
