Consider how important Branch was to the Patriots.

[/ QUOTE ]

How important was he? It's not like the Pats offense kept them out of the playoffs - in fact, I'd posit he was completely replaceable by a crew of no-names and retreads (HI RECHE!)

Consider how important Branch was to the Patriots.

Now consider how much the Patriots paid him.

Now tell me hes not underrated.

[/ QUOTE ]

Huh? I don't follow. He wasn't that important to the Patriots, that's why they didn't pay him. It wasn't like the Pats were in salary cap hell or couldn't afford it...Bellichek just simply knew he wasn't worth what he wanted. Bellichek is a master coach and the main reason for the Patriots success.

I'm simply pointing out that someone was drafted in the 2nd round, never had a break-out season in the NFL and then got traded for a 1st round pick. This person simply CANNOT be overrated. It does not compute given their situation.

[ QUOTE ]
Also, consider the importance of individual statistics for players who play on the Patriots. Stats-wise, Tom Brady is a mediocre QB. Is Tom Brady a mediocre QB?

[/ QUOTE ]

Mediocre? No. Best QB in the league? Also no. The Patriots always have a stacked defense, solid running game and an absolutely brilliant coach...and I think Brady gets way more credit than he deserves, honestly. He singlehandedly blew the Chargers-Pats playoff game but the guy he threw an INT to fumbled the ball lol...and then he became a hero. Brady runs good.

You don't understand how underrated Deion Branch is

[/ QUOTE ]

Yes, he was picked in the 2nd round originally and has never had 1,000 yards receiving yet he got a 1st rounder. It's impossible for him to be "underrated" when he gets a 1st round draft pick (which teams hardly ever part with unless they get future picks).

Moss is commonly referred to as a top 5 WR in the NFL and he got a 4th rounder. How underrated can Branch possibly be if there's a 4th round-1st round difference. Best WR in the NFL?

[/ QUOTE ]

I just want to say you have the best avatar on 2+2, don't find many Bengals fans around here. You live in Cincy? Season ticket holder? Who dey!

Oh and yes, Brady and Moss are gonna be a sick duo next year. Brady has never had an elite WR to throw to, I'm actually excited to see how good he is with a real #1 wideout (yes I'm a huge Bengals fan, I just enjoy watching great football no matter the team/player, minus the Steelers ldo)

I need to go to bed so I didn't read this thread but Moss's attitude is not nearly as bad as most people are saying it is.

Actually I live in Boston, haha. But I love the Bengals and I hate the Patriots. I want to road trip to Cincy to watch Pats-Bengals in October 1st this year.
