When I was 10 years old I asked my grandparents what Binoculars were. (pronounced Bino-Coolers)

wow was I embarrassed

easily avatar. I would never say this word outloud, just in my head as something like aviator because I never really went about trying to figure out how to say it. When I met some 2+2ers in real life they said the word and I was relieved that I never said it outloud first.

when i played tecmo super bowl, i thought schedule was pronounced "sheh doo lee."

also, i thought manny delcarmen's name was manny declarmen until recently.

I just found out how to pronounce gyro.

Instead of JIE-RO, it's EURO? [img]/images/graemlins/confused.gif[/img]

Yeah this one bugs me because everyone says JIE-RO. I've even heard GUY-RO a couple times.

When I was about 11, I was reading a book of short horror stories in the back of the car on a family trip. I saw the word vagina, and the following conversation ensued:

Me: What's a vague-in-a?
Dad: A what?
Me: Vague-in-a. v-a-g-i-n-a. What is it?
Dad: What in the hell are you reading?
