Hearst busted through for a 99 yard TD after getting shut down the entire game. Awesome play, and personally one of my favorites as a 49ers fan. They did a "Top MNF football moments" the first week either for the Thursday game or before the Monday double header and I think this was #1. Probably the closest thing to a walkoff you can get in football

[/ QUOTE ]

1. It was against the Jets.
2. It was 96 yards
3. Hearst had run 19 times for 91 yards and 1 TD before breaking the big TD. He had not been shut down the entire game.

[/ QUOTE ]

Wrong game. The one you are referencing was not a Monday nighter. It was opening day 98, I was there. The Hearst run was in overtime.

[/ QUOTE ]

I assumed he meant the OT 96 yarder since he referenced a "walk off"

In any case its easy to see where the confusion comes from.

Happiest:

Tampa winning the Superbowl

The Whammy im Miami

Oregon St crushing ND in the Fiesta Bowl

News of the Carolina cheerleaders getting it on in the bathroom

Don't really have a saddest moment.

Happiest: Devils OT Stanley Cup win in 2000. Only better way to win a championship is the walk-off home run.
Worst: Devils lose a must-win to the last place Senators to fall out of the 1996 playoffs - they'd won it all the year before.

The saddest sports moment was the 1972 Olympics when 11 Israelis were murdered.

Happiest: '91 WS, although actually Game 6 was the happiest, greatest sports moment of my life, winning it was a close second.

Saddest: Gary Anderson missing a FG against ATL. Really that whole game but that moment crystallizes it.

Best: 98 UK-Duke Game
Worst: Wasn't old enough for 92 UK-Duke so I'll go with The Bluegrass Miracle

Happiest for me: Joe Carter's walkoff in '93. I knew he would come up clutch and it sent chills through my body.

Worst for me: Probably Vince Carter missing the buzzer beater in the 2nd round 2001 playoffs vs. the 76ers. Man that Raptor team was good.

Happiest: Aaron Boone HR
Lowest: Game 7 2004 ALCS

Pretty much reversed for me

Happiest: Sox winning WS, Game 7 ALCS 2004
Lowest:Aaron Boone's HR 2003 ALCS, Maryland bball being up by 20 at half against Duke in the final 4 then getting butt raped by the refs and losing.

The Duke comeback to beat Maryland in the national semifinals that year didn't bother me too much ... as I recall Maryland was up 23 10 minutes or so in, it was down to 11 at halftime and Duke just shot the lights out down the stretch. Don't recall any officiating stuff but it's been a while.

The 10-point Duke rally in the final 54 seconds of regulation (with Jay Williams going nuts) and winning in OT over the Terps hurt a lot worse.
