Basically projection systems do pretty okay for individual players. What this does is a logical extension of that and combines the projections for individual players on one team and then uses that to run simulations.

The problem is that there's a margin of error and it keeps going up when you combine all of them like this. Furthermore, you're gonna run into a *lot* of luck: injuries, players playing out of their minds (chacon/small, francouer, randy winn), pythagorean stuff, etc.

so no, not very useful as a predictor for who's gonna win the world series, but to get a good idea of what's going on, teams that might be over/underrated, etc, it's okay.

A's fans, what do you think about Bobby Crosby? Healthy this year? Can he be a 25 HR, 90 RBI kind of hitter? I'm looking at him in a trade in fantasy baseball, but I may have to give up Andy Marte to get him. Gamboool?

Crosby is over rated. He won't hit more than 18 HR.
