I don't think Richar is ready to take over anything more than mediocre production unless he has some amazing defense I don't know about.

Richar is going to play 2B for sure.
The market for shortstops is pretty thin, as evidenced by players like John McDonald. That being said, there isn't much demand for them. Like rwperu pointed out, this reminds me a lot of the Carlos Guillen debacle. 1) Trade Carlos Guillen for a box of crackers 2) Sign Miguel Tejada 3) Profit! oh wait we forgot to do #2 |

.230/.289/.406 .234/.284/.394 Which one is Richar, which one is Uribe? [/ QUOTE ] uribe has d. which does mean a lot. and playing ss also helps a lot. ss>>>>>>> 2b. and going from a harder d position to an easier usually means better d. |

I don't think Uribe's D (which is probably in decline) is enough reason to start him over Richar.
Also, my point was more in line with what Kyle said. |

Uribe's a solid player. No idea if other teams know that, but he is. Richar isn't very good [/ QUOTE ] uribe's solid? an SLG-heavy 700 OPS is 'solid' for a shortstop? curious about this one |

Also, my point was more in line with what Kyle said. [/ QUOTE ] $ only comes in when we're talking about what would be the best, most optimal deal. if they don't care... why should we as fans? |
