[ QUOTE ]
I'm pretty sure the talk that Sammy is a top Omaha player is gamemanship on the part of the other players done in order in order Sammy in the game. [/ QUOTE ] If this is true, it must be a vast conspiracy. I remember a Card Player article from a few years ago where they did a survey of like 100 pros at the WSOP, asking who's the best at various games. Farha was voted the best PLO cash game player. |

Under the why would Doyle & Chip play Sammy if they didn't think they had an edge--they gain their edge through adding many games. There was a post where someone was talking about playing shorthanded all night with Sammy in a small game rotation.
Doyle showed up in the morning and wanted to expand the rotation to 30 games (prob an exageration by the poster). Sammy left the game. Topset72 |

Wonder if PA means Farha:
With players on a ten minute break we run into an old friend in the bar. David Lloyd: Long time… Patrik Antonius: It must be a year. Do you know I haven’t been in Europe in over 12 months? David: How are you settling in over there (LV) …I see you’re in the big game now…are you enjoying it? Patrik: Oh yeah, it’s good. David: How often do they get the game running? Patik: Well in January and February, no one’s around so the game isn’t really regular enough but many times throughout the year you can be playing all day, every day for two weeks at a time. During the World Series it’s crazy…during the WPT it’s crazy! David: Who’s the value in the game? Patrik: Well _ _ _ ’s pretty good to play with. He’s a pretty good PLO player, a lot better than many in the game but if I can get him behind in a game…I could sit and play with him for two days if I had him like that. David: Who would you rate? Patrik: Well, given a choice, the guys you don’t want to be playing with…Johnny Chan, Chip Reese, David Benyamine…David's a very good reader...it's incredible sometimes... Source |
