Re: bit of a weird valuespot HU
If you're running good, bet. If not, check. That easy.

Re: bit of a weird valuespot HU
Would he bet a ten here on the turn? Many players tend to check it here imo. Therefore I think it's more of a bluff. But if he'd occasionally bet w/ a ten here, a VB from your side is justified.
I really think that if sometimes bluff, he'd bluff the river as well, and also bet his ace. So I think he's either got a ten-ish type of a hand and Might call a 1/2 pot bet or nothing. VB 1/3-1/2 pot if you think he will bet a ten in this spot sometimes. |

Re: bit of a weird valuespot HU
And if you think he is capable of C/R the river, with 98, a 6 or better, I'd obv also check. But given your description I think he won't?

Re: bit of a weird valuespot HU
if river was a 6 i like a value bet even more. he prob thinks you don't check an ace on connected boards, so he rules that out, and he pots the turn with a pair because the board is connected, and checks the river b/c all draws missed. if he is a fish he will definately call here b/c he thinks you are trying to 'rep' some sort of trips.
villain also shows up with a weak ace some of the time but when passive fish see you value bet KK here they get scared. KK is a monster after all and once in a while you do get dealt them too. |
