Pretty sure it's because there are way less fish on Stars so the regulars "get to know each other" a lot more (in all ways) because they are just playing against each other all the time.

vae is v good and even more difficult to play against. if getting AK in for 100BB is an example of him being a fish, that should be a good sign that he plays pretty well.
