With your description, I think checking the turn can only make sense if you intend to call his bet.

whelp haven't read the thread but there are 3 outcomes

1) AQ
2) AA u lose
3) he is a donkey and has neither 1 or 2.

His line after the flop is strange,
& leads me to believe he has AA, rather than AQ

regardless finding a fold is pretty silly given this information

Or maybe you're just in that perfect zen state, and you neither fold nor call too much. Just you are in it; if you look too much to your left, you will see the callers anonymous, and too much to your right, folders marathons. But you are in the middle; limbo. It could be perhaps a paradise: The Elysian fields. But no one else knows of such a place, as said, they are either too far to the right or to the left.

I, alas, am in callers anonymous, doomed in tartarus, whipped for eternity. The water is just set a little too low and the fruit a little too high; c'est la vie, as the french say. (But the Americans really say that, in emulation of the french)

I would look over, see you, stuck in the middle, and think, "Well, Punter is in limbo! The man has no allegiance! No strong opinion! He's neither a caller nor a folder! What will become of him!?" And truthfully, only you woul dknow the correct answer.

insta-call, you make a standard continuation bet and then check turn. Why wouldn't button make a move here?
Your hand looks like ak or maybe ajs or lower PP and a few other hands that missed. So why is villain so eager to get it in with qq, aa ? If this is an ep raise I may consider folding a little. You are ahead so often here that folding is definitly wrong

Looks like AQ that's trying to represent trip 8's. But would AQ not raise the flop here? Is the check on the turn for pot control? I'd probably call.
