no, action hold'em started in the south of florida. its a $2 hold'em game with a $2 ante every hand! my card room started spreading it last year. the funny thing about it is that all the people who requsted it were the worst poker players at jckc.

I just spent a couple of hours at Dania Jai-Alai playing the straight-2 double-flop holdem. First time I've played live in quite awhile here in Florida, as I usually get really bored with it in about 10 minutes.

Anyway, same old stuff. People continually acting out of turn and then pulling back bets, three or four people throwing chips all over the place to where you never know who's in the pot for how much, two or three people at one end of the table showing each other their cards and discussing the board while it's still in play ... and the dealers refuse to do anything to try to stop this nonsense.

Will we lose this kind of crap in the New Florida Poker World, or will we still have to put up with it?

welcome to florida poker. bad etiquette on the part of the players and gross unprofessionalism on the part of the card rooms. they feed of each other it seems because the stakes are minuscule, so no one takes the games seriously.

hopefully with the raise in stakes and the adding of nl games, the card rooms and their patrons will take the game more seriously and behave accordingly.

one cardroom that i have been to though that has a bit of order in their games is the tamba bay downs room. been there only 3 times, but each time i liked how everyone behaved for the most part.

yup. this is why even with the sky-hi rakes, florida poker can be beaten so comfortably.

That's what it means, Bob. Most of the rooms here in Broward County have it now with the straight-2 THE.

So yes, there is $26 in the pot before the cards are dealt.

The gamboolers here -- and there are many -- love that game. Also, you'll see a lot of straddling at these tables.

The $2/2 limit games with an $2 ante don't use blinds. The action starts to the left of the button. Is it the same for 2/4 'action' NL?

Seems they are also looking at that part that says 'maximum required buy-in of $100' and are hoping that it means that people can be allowed to buy-in for more than that when the actual rules and regs for the games finally come out.

[/ QUOTE ]

This is what is causing all the problems with how people are reading the new bill. There is NO maximum required buy-in stated in the bill. The bill states:

[ QUOTE ]
However, a cardroom operator may conduct games of Texas Hold-em without a betting limit if the required player buy-in is no more than $100.

[/ QUOTE ]
The important word in this is required player buy-in.

This and other bad wording in the bill it what is causing all the confusion for everybody including the cardrooms.

Hopefully the Division of Pari-Mutuels and the Seminole Tribe see it that way. The latter is much more likely.

this isn't directed just at vox but for anyone who might know:

approximately how long before 'dbpr' enacts their interpretations of the law?

are they starting the process of interpreting the law now or will they wait after july 1 to first look at the issue?

You would think, from the wording, that none of the Politicians that read this bill have ever played poker.

Dania has signs posted in the cardroom that say there will be 2/4 limit, $5-straight limit, 1-5 spread-limit stud and 1/2 no-limit with $100 buyins.

If I were a betting man, I would bet that what you will see in all Florida pokerrooms is $100 max buyins no matter what the wording of the legislation.
