Whoops, sorry.. drinking is bad.
I agree it is pretty demoralizing to see just how well they hit Francis and how patient they were. He has done really well and just got rocked. I don't disagree that Boston can probably be expected to always score 5-6 runs with their bats. I really think we come out tonight and hit Schilling really well and are in this game, though. If Jiminez keeps it in the zone he is an overpowering pitcher. |

My issue is that every player in our lineup other than Hawpe/Torrealba and to a certain extent Holliday has been ICE cold
The most runs we scored in 4 games against Arizona? 5. We were SO good down the stretch at generating runs, and in this postseason our pitching has gotten us to the WS while our bats struggled. For us to have any chance we need to start mashing like we did for the latter 2/3 of the season |

[ QUOTE ] I'm not at all familiar with Coors Field. Would one of the Rockie's fans who is please explain some of the "Home Field" advantages that they believe the Rockies have? Some have mentioned Manny's inability to play left field. [/ QUOTE ] Manny's not going to have difficulty playing left field in Coors Field. That's just hype. Yankee Stadium has a big left field and Manny doesn't have any special problems there. Coors Field: 347 ft. left, 390 ft. left-center, 415 ft. center Yankee Stadium: 318 ft. left, 399 ft. left-center, 408 ft. center Basically, Coors Field just has a deeper left field corner right at the foul pole. ![]() ![]() [/ QUOTE ] Thanks for the info Dynasty....... So.....Fenway.....LF line - 302, LC - 379 (both with a 37 foot wall to get a ball over). CF - 420 (with a 17' wall). Balls travel further in Coors because it's a mile high, right? Not for nothing, but I don't think that the Sox hitters will crawl into a shell because of this. |

Coors looks like a much more difficult LF to play than yankee stadium. This should be interesting.

This is one Sox fan who is not letting what happened in Game 1 affect his outlook on the whole series. As I said before, the Rockies did NOT backslide into the Series, and we could just as easily see tonight the exact reverse of what we saw last night. That's why they play the games. Speculation is fun, but attempting to predict with opinion as one's primary metric (as we all so often do) is really nothing more than than that.........fun. |

I am definitely not the taco location guy. I didn't have a drop to drink last night and went to bed before any of that went down (wish there was a female witness to this...). Also, I don't write in retarded 2nd grade all lower case letters like some people on this site, not even to try to hide my identity.

The biggest dilemma the Sox face going to Coors is who is going to sit. Sitting Youk would be insane right now but how do you sit Ortiz? Lowell? Don't like sitting him either as Youk at third makes us weaker defensively. of course Tito could do the 3 man rotation thing he did in the regular season in NL Parks.
Or, sit Ellsbury and move Drew to Center and Youk to Right and Ortiz to First. Nah, that screws up 3 positions defensively. |
