How did Starbucks respond to the Consumer Reports taste test survey indicating McDonald's coffee was found to be superior?

Why is it nearly everytime I get a cup of Joe it's burnt?

What practices is Starbucks implementing at their brick and mortar stores to promote sustainability?

Why aren't reusable cups an option for those drinking beverages in stores?

I believe their official response was ".....nuh uh."

Honestly, I don't know how the company chose to respond/acknowlege it, if they did at all. My opinion, McDonalds coffee is probably closer to what people typically think of as coffee, IE Folgers. Most of these people consider Starbucks to be too bold. Don't know what to tell them, other than they have poor taste. I've had McDonald's coffee, and it is swill.

A common complaint about Starbucks coffee is that it overroasts its beans. Again, I don't think so, but some people do. However, we do dump urns and brew fresh hourly, so it shouldn't taste burnt because it's been sitting on the dock too long.

I don't quite follow your first question (I'm only a dumb barista)?

We have ceramic mugs for all sizes, just ask for the drink "for here." Also, bring in your own mug/traveler/tumbler and you'll get a 10 cent discount.

I'm not gonna lie, some of our employees constantly let coffee sit in the urns longer than we were supposed to, and I"m sure it's not uncommon in other locations as well.

Also we get tons of complaints for having coffee that is too bold. It's just an acquired taste I guess

Bob,

Thanks for answers the questions. Sustainability, "is a characteristic of a process or state that can be maintained at a certain level indefinitely. For planet earth, it is thus the intent to provide the best outcomes for the human and natural environments both now and into the indefinite future. One of the most often-cited definitions of sustainability is the one created by the Brundtland Commission, led by the former Norwegian Prime Minister Gro Harlem Brundtland. The Commission defined sustainable development as development that "meets the needs of the present without compromising the ability of future generations to meet their own needs."[1] Sustainability relates to the continuity of economic, social, institutional and environmental aspects of human society, as well as the non-human environment.[2] Sustainability is one of the four Core Concepts behind the 2007 Universal Forum of Cultures (wiki)."

Rather than selling ceramic mugs, my suggestion is for Starbucks to sell coffee in mugs and clean them after their customers have left. That's wishful thinking.

I'm not sure what drew me into reading this whole thread, but I did, and it's awesome, as most have already pointed out.

Someone should email this thread to Corporate Headquarters, so CB gets an immediate promotion and raise.
