[ QUOTE ] Trying to fight is never an acceptable answer. You need to learn that. [/ QUOTE ] Who the hell are you Mary Poppins? You should keep your nonsense hippy opinions to yourself. You need to learn that. [/ QUOTE ] I am by no means a hippy, I have fought more than enough when I was a teen, now at 24 years old and the way the world is today. Fighting is really -EV it's never going to be a fair fight. Who knows if the guy has a knife a gun.... I hear about that all the time. Simply talking or mention you are displeased. If he hits you then by all means fight, but if some guy insulted my GF at a poker table, I wouldn't chase him from one casino to the next to fight him. After Chad walked up asked what happened and attempted to get an appology, I would just have told the guy he is not a classy guy and been on my way. What would fighting solve? Would Chad now be the Poker Alpha Male? would he gain your respect? |

The desire to commit violence from time to time is a deep seeded, biological trait in our lower brain that's not going anywhere any time soon.
When calmly analyzing things later from a logical point of view it's very easy to say "Well clearly it's -EV because blah blah" but if you are walking down the street and someone say, spits in your girlfriends face, you may be pounding him with your fists before your fancy upper brain even knows what's going on. |

[/ QUOTE ] Right, But that isn't even a scenario that is close to this one. I take everything that girls say with a grain of salt. They exagerate a lot of things and over react often as well. Total and utter disrespect (spitting) is one thing, but her playing poker (he must know she is a verbal player so she should expect some hate) and some insulting comments by some internet kid. I wouldn't run him down and challenge him to a fight. I would say Hey is what my GF said true you called her a Whore?? He would say no I never said that, I Wouldn't believe him But I wouldn't try to fight him. What's that going to do? |

[ QUOTE ] http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gRIRembBbE0 chad brown checking behind nuts on the river. beware this hand will put you on instatilt. [/ QUOTE ] This clip changes everything. He is polite enough to not bet the nuts on the river because he doesn't want to waste his opponents time but he is willing to fight some random dude? Seems unlikely. [/ QUOTE ] Nope. Him and Kristy Gazes are friends so that explains it. And she's a woman. Chad's thought process in both events probably went like this: "Me like woman. Me no exploit woman to optimize profit." And against Aaron Been: "My woman say you hurt her. Me hurt YOU now!" Viewing Brown's actions in the context of a primitive Neanderthal-like mindset explains all. |

All, Apparently according to Bond18, Mastr told him that Chad attempted to follow Aaron Been to the Bellagio to continue his attempts to fight Aaron. Now if you continue to defend Brown at this point you are a total weirdo. [/ QUOTE ] I wouldn't call myself a Brown defender but imagine how bad the story could have been given to him. Sure the right thing to do would still be to get the other version before you try to fight someone. But he could have been thinking "why would VR not tell the whole truth?" |

[ QUOTE ]
1)There's a climate of hating women who are famous for being women. Harman is respected big time here, ditto Violette, Selbst, Tran, etc... Why? BECAUSE THEY CAN PLAY. None of this "I finished 7th in a WPT tourney, I'm so awesome. I'm a great player, Me>Doyle." [/ QUOTE ] NH People want to whine about the posts about looks, fine. But understand folks, when CP and other sites post bios about some of these women they certainly mention looks so expect commentary on it here. FROM CARDPLAYER: VR - "Poker beauty Vanessa Rousso, 24, has been taking the poker world by storm while still attending law school." Erica Schoenberg - "Born on March 25, 1978, Erica Schoenberg has always been somewhat of a "babe." She formerly worked as a model, personal trainer, and professional volleyball player." Evelyn Ng - "Evelyn Ng could be a supermodel or a famous Hollywood actress with her long tresses and limbs." and on and on... |

The aggressive call wasn't too bad, but the aggressive check on the flop was horrible.

[ QUOTE ]
It's easy to get lost in post-feminist America. The point is not that a woman can't defend herself in matters like these. And yes, a lot of women would get mad at their BF/whatever for making a scene or insinuating that they can't handle their business. But under the patina of Gloria Steinemness they want/need/and appreciate this while berating you for it. In the case at hand, Chad's action seems unnecessary and overkill-but who knows what VR said to him. The point is, you take up their cause. [/ QUOTE ] Good points but it seems to be lost on many that for Chad and Vanessa, the Rio is their office. It is unprofessional for both of them to carry on the way they did. Especially Chad. He's in his 40's and should take everything she says with a grain of salt. |
