[ QUOTE ] FWIW, after watching him live many times since he's come to Boston, he's nowhere near as bad as so many make him out to be. If you objectively rank him amongst all AL left fielders, he's a middle-of-the pack guy, and he happens to have playing the Monster down pat(just ask all the base-runners who have tested him over the past 3-4 years). [/ QUOTE ] LOL CMON [/ QUOTE ] A LOL, C'mon doesn't really say much of anything. Care to elucidate? |

Manny is one of the worst defensive outfielders in the history of baseball.
I still love him though. |

Manny is bad in every LF in the league. at Fenway he doesn't look quite as bad b/c it's the easiest LF to play in the league. "learning to play the wall" is an overrated skill that every regular Boston LF has figured out
but I don't think Coors will provide some new challenge to Manny. he'll be bad there just like he's bad everywhere. |

[ QUOTE ] Manny is one of the worst defensive outfielders in the history of baseball. I still love him though. [/ QUOTE ] [/ QUOTE ] FWIW, my season tickets at Yankee Stadium (mentioned for Sublime)are on the wall in left field -- NT! has been there. I have seen Manny playing right in front of me on many occassions (30+ games). He is less than "good" out there. Many balls dropping in front of him because he doesn't get a jump on anything. He does make some great looking catches, but that is usually because he misjudges the ball and has to catch up. And Manny is certainly my favorite Red Sox player (which isn't saying much)... he has tossed me a couple of souviners over our years together. On home field advantage generally, the Rockies appear to have found some secret to pitching at Coors that other teams cannot match. Also, some believe that the Rockies are more acclimated to the high altitude which can play subtle tricks on players that don't play there on a regular basis. Who knows... In the World Series, you also need to add in the fact that Boston will need to sit one of their top bats. |
