Any reason why CardPlayer.Com / PokerNews.Com / Bluff haven't mentioned this yet? Other than the fact they receive advertising money from AP? [/ QUOTE ] There's stuff on Bluff Europe's site |

[ QUOTE ] [ QUOTE ] Also, a number of tournament results pages mention Scott Tom's home town as Missoula, MT. Perhaps where his frat was? [/ QUOTE ] Almost everybody or possibly all involved in AP at the start were from Montana. [/ QUOTE ] Yea, I was told the same thing. That's why I thought Michigan/Maryland myspace accounts were weird. [/ QUOTE ] Pic 1 is definitely Philip Tom. Pic 2 is from his supposed Myspace. Hard to tell either way IMO. |

Re: Absolute Poker Scandal: An Inside Job
[ QUOTE ]
He probably lived a bit too large out in Costa Rica (it's easy to imagine from the guy's picture), and now is in need of money. Being one of AP's founders, he had access to the superuser account, which he realized had not been disabled yet. Thus, his money problems could easily become a thing of the past in a few short weeks. This answers why a supposedly filthy-rich AP CEO would perpetrate a scam for ~1 million dollars. It's because he probably isn't the AP CEO anymore, and he's no longer filthy rich. [/ QUOTE ] Even though this is mostly conjecture, I like it a lot. Perhaps when the real details come out (if ever), it will somewhat resemble this theory. Sounds a lot more plausible than the current CEO actually being a blatant cheater. I would be surprised if new information doesn't come out that dramatically changes everyone's perception. It will still be blatant cheating, imo, but the who/why/how is far from being determined. |

22,000 players on Absolute right now at 9pm EST. It will be interesting to see if this changes at all over the coming days. |

Also, "Phil's" Myspace is under the name "prouss1" Google that and the only result is a poker HH with "prouss1" at the table. Gotta be him. [/ QUOTE ] You can get 2 of Phillip's myspace blog entries through http://www.google.ca/search?hl=en&sa...earch&meta= and clicking on the cached links. Nothing interesting in them, but I dunno, just throwing it out there if anyone wants to check it out. Seems like none of Phil's friends (that I could find) have Scott on their lists fwiw. Seems odd if they're brothers and co-owners, you'd think they'd be connected on myspace. |
