Just had this AIM convo with Mythra...

jhhan84: look alex
jhhan84: if you still think i'm a scammer, that's fine
AlexSt2002: im just posting the facts from my end
jhhan84: im glad u got majority of your money back, minus $240
jhhan84: I totally understand
jhhan84: if I was a scammer, I would be gone from the thread already
AlexSt2002: i am too, and i do appreciate your attempt to right any wrongs that may have come from your end
jhhan84: i'm trying to fight my innocence
jhhan84: I understand the whole situation seems very sketchy, but what can I do when it actually happens?
AlexSt2002: you could start by fighting it with some glimmer of proof?
jhhan84: so this is what I'll do
jhhan84: you lost $240
jhhan84: I have $77 remaining on my pokerstars account that I can't cash out, and I'm probably going to just waste it playing sngs whatever
jhhan84: i'll send that to you, and let's bring a closure to this
AlexSt2002: you cant split the difference as was suggested?
jhhan84: what was that again
AlexSt2002: 140 each
jhhan84: u eat $140, I eat $140?
AlexSt2002: and we call it closed
jhhan84: are you going to request the thread to be locked?
AlexSt2002: if i receive 140 on stars, yes
jhhan84: do u know if I can transfer money right away after depositing on stars?
AlexSt2002: obviously since im not a mod i cant gaurentee that, but i will make a detailed post requesting the thread be locked
AlexSt2002: yes, you can
jhhan84: I'm sure they will lock it if OP wants to locked
AlexSt2002: how will you deposit if your bank was hacked?
jhhan84: credit cards
jhhan84: trying now
jhhan84: yikes, first card declined
jhhan84: gimme a sec
AlexSt2002: ok
AlexSt2002: but the longer i wait the less inclined i'll be willing to eat some of my loss
AlexSt2002: even you should understand that
jhhan84: alex, do not gimme that..
jhhan84: please
jhhan84: i've had enough
AlexSt2002: and i havent?
jhhan84: i said i'm currently trying to deposit
jhhan84: and first one didnt go thru, saying gambling restriction whatever
jhhan84: and i updated u, real time
jhhan84: i dont know what else I can do
AlexSt2002: ok, fine
jhhan84: now let me try 2nd deposit try
jhhan84: ok 2nd one did go thru
jhhan84: whats your stars name
AlexSt2002: keep in mind, if this credit card gets declined and these funds removed from my account, you'll face all this over again
jhhan84: oh wow
AlexSt2002: is that a suprise?
jhhan84: dont test me alex
jhhan84: transfer request sent
jhhan84: lets just bring a closure to this
jhhan84: dont gimme any of that
jhhan84: that last comment was really unnecessary
jhhan84: Hello vampyrv,

We have transferred $140.00 from your account to 'astarck' as per your request.

Good luck to you both.

Regards,

PokerStars Cashier

jhhan84: we done?
AlexSt2002: i'll make my post
jhhan84: please request the thread to be locked
jhhan84: i'm sorry for all the trouble u had to go thru
jhhan84: only if I could prove my case, too bad

So, being a man of my word, I'm willing to ask this thread be closed and I eat the $140 loss as "learning" expenses for all parties involved.

Although if any 2p2ers would like to pitch in for the remaining $140 as sheer entertainment value for you guys, I do accept transfers on Stars and FullTilt.

Thank you all for your help, I greatly appreciate it. Barring further developments this will be my last post in this thread.

You probably could have gotten the other $140 since he got caught. He seems to want to set things right. Maybe he is finally scared of what may happen.

[/ QUOTE ]

It is hard not being sarcastic here, I'm mean you think?! Still, he was offered an out and if he takes it and the OP is good with that, I don't see how we can complain. OP ends up with 'about' what he expected and I feel that is what is important (that and scammer learned a lesson)

Good to hear the OP got resolution. A lot of the evidence does point to Mythra attempting to scam, but the main thing is it got resolved. Mytrha, can you go to start/run and type "eventvwr"? That should bring up the event viewer, and then have a look through the Application/Security/System logs, and see if there was anything suspicious the times that you were away. If your laptop has been hacked then we should try and find out how or why for definite.

Also if you could download Hijackthis, http://www.majorgeeks.com/download3155.html and run a scan, then either post the log or PM it to me, I can have a quick look and see if I see anything amiss. This is a program that will just list everything running at startup.

He got away with $140, but on the other side there is obviously somebody reading this thread to which it is important for him to keep his image, if not I don't think he would have kept fighting a lost fight so long (and always trying to settle things outside the thread to avoid dirt inside the thread). Having failed so utterly at that, I think the "cost" of that is way above $140.

MrBlueNose,
If you have read the entire thread, you will note that we are now at the point of someone actually having physical access to his computer, not just hacking his accounts. So that means someone broke into his apartment, on several different days, at several different times. How anyone can still be treating this like there's even the remotest of possibilities that Mythra is telling the truth is beyond me.

Two things puzzle me about this thread

1) Half of $240 is $120, not $140... so OP is only down $100 right now.

2) In IM (and the info above), Mythra is using hotmail:

[ QUOTE ]

jhhan84: how can u see sent mail on hotmail
AlexSt2002: i dont know, figure it out
jhhan84: i can't see sent mail on hotmail
jhhan84: but i sent it, around 15 mins ago

[/ QUOTE ]

but his screenshot is from gmail...

Niether point is important. If OP agrees with amount +-$20 can't matter, and having a few different email addresses is common.

But why would FullTilt respond to a hotmail email if his registered account (i.e. the one they sent mail to) is gmail?

And I agree, it's not important... but I spent 45 minutes of my life reading this thread and I wanted to contribute (:

Mythra - a few quick ?'s

1) So a "hacker" who logged in from your computer obviously knew about the previous money transfering you had done, correct? He knew the process on 2+2, Neteller, and FTP?

2) The "hacker" set up a money transfer on your hacked 2+2 account with the OP, correct? He obviously knew how the money transfers had worked previously.

3) The "hacker" got a 2K tansfer on FTP and played 1/2 NL for awhile while telling the story of the super bowl bet, correct?

4) The "hacker" then attempted to transfer the funds from FTP into your bank account - which he had also "hacked" - so that he could then email transfer the money to his e-wallet, correct?

5) You were skiing all weekend, correct?

6) You have no receipts, lift tickets, or similar dated items showing you were out of town for the weekend, correct?

7) You were previously busto, correct?

8) WTF?

Pay the man his monies.
