Perry Busted by Tomko
HOLDEM

Rafael Perry is eliminated from the tournament in 15th place by Dewey Tomko when Perry missed his gutshot straight draw against Tomko's pocket Queens.

Reese Takes a Pot
HOLDEM

Chip Reese raises from the small blind and Joe Cassidy calls. The flop is QQ10. Cassidy bets, Reese raises, and Cassidy calls. The turn is the 9. Cassidy bets $40,000 and Reese raises to $80,000. Cassidy folds and takes the pot. Reese is at $940,000 and Cassidy is down to $101,000.

Am I the only one who thinks a NLHE FT isn't such a bad idea? Despite the over-saturation of it, it's a field of top pros, playing the "Cadillac of poker" at the final table. It's not like some random guy can luckbox his way through.

Just a thought.

Man it's too bad this has to be settled by NLHE.

To be honest, I'm starting to think that NLHE Final Talbe is a good thing. There's just too much dependence on card-catching in limit tournaments, particularly in razz and Stud H/L.

Am I the only one who is getting annoyed with Jourdain's copy-paste play by play from Cardplayer.com? If anyone wants the play by play they can go to cardplayer.com and get it themselves, not to mention that what he is doing is essentially stealing content from their site by reproducing it word for word without prior permission. I am 100% positive that Mason would not approve.

I believe he is doing this for those who can't access cardplayer at work? I may be wrong. Either way I don't have an opinion on it.

as someone at work, this is why I don't mind it. Although perhaps adding some kind of observations on the CP information would make it less infringing?

Reading the updates reminds me of every non-HE game I've ever played in at the low limits. Start w/the best hand and get run down.

From Paul Phillips' journal:

Just know that the swings are gigantic and much of the time you are tied onto a pot until the last street so it's easy to lose 5 BB on a hand with no way to avoid it (e.g. in razz when you know 100% you are ahead on every street and then you're the only one bricks the river... or in stud high when you start with the bigger pair and the other guy chases until he makes two while you never improve - that seems to be the story of every stud high hand I've ever played.)

looks like the cream rises to the top after all.

at last look, chip reese, doyle, ivey, patrik antonius, gavin smith, greenstein and joe cassidy are still in it with a couple ppl to go until the final table

i would personally like to see chip reese take it down

Chip Reese is now leading with over 1.1 million.

I want to see him win more than anyone else there.
