What did it payout? I'm one of the idiots who get the medals instead because I hate donkaments, but the medals aren't worth crap.

$5400. plus the 4-person $5k sng entry, and a shot at the $100k heads up matches if he wins that.

It is funny to see how many mention dobieatwar as one of the best. He is pretty good, I admit. However, I love sitting 1 or 2 seats to his left. He steals with almost any two from button and folds to a reraise. Some nights I have reraised him every single time he raises from late pos. He folds 9/10 times.

I aggree that 17013 is amazing. He is by far the best lag NL100 player I have played.

What do you guys think of players like BS Manta (I mostly played him at NL50 but he has played at NL100 recently) and ggandgl?

I have never heard of BS Manta. ggandgl is good, just like everyone else. I enjoy playing with 17013; take an hour or so and analyze his play over the past 2 months - you'll see a trend. BuckyLastard is running really hot right now, at least according to my PT. I am still of the opinion that 95% of us just trade money, day in and day out, with our profits coming from the weekend warriors and drunk people. After 6 consecutive $3000+ months at NL100, I only made ~$1000 in August, so maybe I'm just being cynical.

As far as Ironman, I get medals and buy points - I'm near 300,000. I want the 400,000 plasma, but it seems like it is taking forever. Anyone else close?

hey guys, just want to pop in say hi to everyone.

for 17013
I had limp in with some decent hands against 17013 when he does have position. He cold raised with any two. I got him a few times, he had never mess with me again.

why do people think dobieatwar is good ??

and on the days where he is a min raising fool, just 3bet them every time... he'll fold 95% of the time

Obviously he has done some sort of cost/benefit analysis to this approach and has determined that the benefits outweigh the costs. He wins at a pretty good clip, or else he would have quit or went busto a while back. He relies on his superior post-flop play to take down pots. I don't see why you think it's so terrible that he folds to 3 bets against tighter opponents. In pots where he isn't 3 bet, his hand is fairly well disguised and he has a firm grasp of odds such that he makes it just slightly -EV for you to make certain calls based upon his reads, which are normally spot on. The guy would have had 8 consecutive $3500+ months if he didn't take periodic [and sometimes unsuccessful] shots at $1/2, $2/4 and $3/6.

Playing 15/6/2 may be your comfortable or ideal style, but there really is no unexploitable style. It is when your superior play and great decision making compliment your perceived style that you see steady, substantial profit.

unsmart I agree, I had 3x reraised dobieatwar so many times, he just fold so fast. other day I just cold called his min crap raise, and crushed him 6 hands straight after I got so sick of the dumb play. either limp or raise please.
also I agree he is a min raising fool, I hate min raise [censored]---excuse my language.

And I think I did play with u too unsmart right?

Yep, the Ironman yesterday had 302 players and a $30k prize pool. Based on that it's roughly a $100 value which you get for $27 if my math or understanding is correct.

I too have done well in these, although with 300 players instead of 200 like it used to be, it has gotten more difficult. I've cashed 4 out of 6 times if I recall, including barely getting into the money yesterday for $120. Not playing in it because it affects rakeback is extremely -ev. If you could enter a $100 buy in tourney for $27, wouldn't you want to as much as possible?

[/ QUOTE ]

However, if like me you have time constraints selecting medals and saving the entry fee is better. To each there own. =D The math behind playing is compelling however.

[/ QUOTE ]

That I agree with. If you have plans you have plans. Obviously if you can't play when the tournament is held, you might as well get something for it and take the medals. I've done that once.
