money laundering [/ QUOTE ] iH8, It is not illegal for Mr. Smith to tell a poker site he is Jane Doe... it is not illegal to play on your willing "friends" poker accounts... etc... It is *merely* against the Poker Sites T&C, and their entire remedy is to close the account (and confiscate funds in the account) For something to reach the level of money-laudering, the Original source of the funds must be from illegal activity... with the end result of the funds appearing to be from a legitimate source. |

You can't sue someone for using all resources available to them, to beat you at a game |

Random ideas of steps we could take:
1.) More threads like this... some of you guys are really fine sleuths. 2.) Figure out names/addresses concerning who is involved with this stuff. Go onto the games they are playing and spam that they are bots and their home addresses. Getting a few visits from irate gambling addicts might change their tune a little. 3.) Forum effort to single out bots and beat them. Keep profiles of the playstyles of all bots publicly as a running project. 4.) Computer genius guys: if their information is discovered would it be hard to write viruses and such especially for them? We don't have to take this bs lying down. |

Seems like a new app called Bot Alert (for example) might be useful.
Could simply(?) be an addition to the tablescanning softwares already in use. (Mr Snood?) The app would look for known and suspected bot s/n's (and also known play styles/patterns) and flag the user. It might even be +ev to search out the bots and play against them having identified their vulnerabilities - Whilst a bot may be able to make +ev plays against individual players, it is gonna be sool if the entire table decides to systematically punish it hand after hand. This thought really tickles me. Any thoughts about lobbying the sites to disable 'hide me from search' to make bot hunting easier? |
