sucks to get burned when you're trying to be so clever.

I mean, its not like something went wrong on that play, they pretty much executed it perfectly...it was just illegal. Dont you think Miles could have like called someone up and asked them if the refs would allow them to do that? Like, maybe at some point before a tied conference game in the 4th quarter?

[/ QUOTE ]

maybe he was afraid it would leak out and someone else would try it first.

WTF is that, is it legal, and was that basically the refs saying "Hey guys that was [censored] lame as hell dont do that 5 yards?"

[/ QUOTE ]

That's what I'm wondering.

[/ QUOTE ]

We had a team in like 8th grade football that would have their linebackers run full speed up to the LOS and then slam on the breaks, and since our O-line guys were a bunch of 8th graders, they'd flinch and react pretty much every time, and it would be called a false start.

After about the third time in a row that the other team did this, the refs just started calling offsides every single time no matter how ridiculous it was and no matter how far from the LOS they stopped. This kind of seemed like that.

It's 4th and inches, Miles has all of the OL shift in toward the center in a bid to get the DL offside. It works, but it's also a 15 yard penalty.

Miles called this strange play where the entire line sets, then shifts in, which I hear is an illegal snap simulation.

He tried to move 6 linemen in motion at once, thinking it was legal because their hands weren't down when it's actually a penalty for "simulating a snap".

The oline went up to the LOS, but didnt get set or put their hands down, and then all at the same time they like shifted 3 feet to the left, which looked like a snap and of course all the Bama guys jumped across. They called it "simulating the snap" because I guess it was although usually thats like a Center or QB thing I think.
