Crossposted from Sporting Events. I am seriously going to just turn off the sound on the TV from now on and go radio.

I had to post this somewhere, so this thread will have to do.

My wife and I planned a getaway in the woods leaving Friday and got back today. We were in a cabin with no television, no cell phone access, and no internet. We are both huge Red Sox fans and watch about 150 games a year.

Our only option was a 1930's antique AM radio. I would like to thank ESPN radio out of Chicago for coming in loud and clear in Oriskany, VA 700 miles away. I love baseball on the radio and I got John Miller instead of Tim McCarver, so I can hardly complain.

That's funny, I get crap signal from New York 1050 ESPN Radio less than 100 miles away.

Growing up we always used to let the radio announce the game while watching on TV...not sure why I stopped doing it as radio announcers >>> TV announcers, especially for baseball.

Although with Milo Hamilton likely no longer announcing for the Astros, listening to them just won't be the same.
