Dodgers look like they landed Schmidt for 3 years/47 million.

The Mets traded Bannister to the Royals for Ambiorix Burgos.

Also, cnnsi is now reporting that the Mets are potentially looking to deal Heilman and Milledge to the A's for Harden.

[/ QUOTE ]

Why in the world would the A's trade Harden he is signed through 2008 with an option for 2009 at VERY cheap money.. Doesn't make any sense..

2007: $2 Million
2008: $4.5 Million
2009: $7 Million (Option)

I have no idea...it's up on the front page of CNNSI.com. Might just be a rumor. Might have some substance, who knows. I wouldn't trade him yet if I were the A's.

heilman and milledge is a lot to give up for harden ... but at this point, i think i do it. Willie is obviously not a big fan of milledge. And hopefully borgues can replace heilman.

[/ QUOTE ] It makes plenty of sense...Milledge and Heilman are signed for even longer for less money. Harden is one of the 5 best pitchers in baseball when healthy, but when is that going to be exactly? You can't just say: "This guy is valuable so I'm not trading him no matter what". If you say that, you will never get anybody valuable in return (unless you trade with only the donks). That said, they can probably get an even better deal for Harden.

I would trade Heilman and Milledge for Harden in a millisecond.

Milledge was very unimpressive during the time he was brought up this season. Many within the Mets think his stock has fallen a bit, which is why he went from untouchable last season to seemingly tradeable now. You don't give up a proven ace signed the next couple of seasons at cheap dollars for that and a pitcher who has pitched good (not spectacular)in the NL

wow. i think you are way exagerating. 2005 was an AWESOME year. The rest of the time he was slightly above average and/or hurt. So to call him one of the top 5 pitchers in baseball when he has had only one great year is quite a stretch.

That being said, i think i still make this trade if i am the Mets

Nice trade for the Braves in my opinion:

To Seattle: Horacio Ramirez
To Atlanta: Rafael Soriano
