This is the direction I need to be looking in, thanks. The second shawl is beautiful, but I'd no doubt get some funny looks, considering it'll be about 100 degrees, even in the church.

Cleavage would likely not be a problem (would definitely be appreciated by my date) if it wasn't for my ridiculously deep sports bra tan that requires I cover most of my upper half.

Is it completely taboo to wear black to a wedding?

I thought about the heat issue given your tropical location.
What about a summer weight fabric and hope for a cooler day?

I do not think its taboo to wear black to a wedding. Maybe more a taboo for the bride.
I plan on it at the end of the month.

Ah, just do it. What are they gonna do? Ask you to leave?

I'm probably spending too much time worrying about the dress and not enough about the high probability of toppling over in my heels at the reception and falling into the pool. Must remember not to wear mascara.

Black it is!

(Thank you)

I have no idea if that's suitable for your work (it's not like it's a whore-suit that's unsuitable for anywhere, but you never know), but I think it's a cool dress.

Beautiful and sexy dress. Not completely sure where it would and wouldn't fit in, in the workplace.

Yeah, I can't speak for work, but if a girl showed up for a lunch date or something wearing that, I'd be pretty happy.

Wow this is cool that you guys actually approve of something I like. I thought for sure you would tell me it was too conservative or that you hated the short sleeves. I might have to order this one. It's only $98.00.

Ever since diebitter started this thread I've been obsessed with looking at dresses online. I've found a bunch that I want to order. This could be really bad for my credit cards.
