I can't stop listening to Spoon's Ga Ga Ga Ga Ga. It's incredible.

Holy Jesus I'm halfway through and I think this destroys Arular so far (and I LOVED Arular). If there's one or two huge bangers on the second half of the album it is def gonna be in my top 5 of the year.

edit: yup gonna be listening to this album a ton

I think I might agree. My favorite track so far is Paper Planes.

2 Favorites of Indiematty's, (lame semi drunken 3rd person reference) Pinback and Minus the Bear both have new albums out soon, both I've heard are kicking around the internets.

Haha it reminds me of Paris Hilton's single Stars Are Blind.

...

Luckily I liked that song.

I think my favorite song on the CD is 20 Dollar.

I heard there is a hot remix of Boyz out already but I can't find it anywhere and my friend lost his iPod that had it

If I felt pretty indifferent about Highly Refined Pirates, should I just give up on Minus the Bear altogether? I did really like the 3rd track on that one.

the minus the bear is very solid.

I'm currently really enjoying the Long Blondes, John Vanderslice, and Gorgol Bordello.

got the new interpol disc, nothing new and i don't think it's as good as turn on the bright lights, but for fans looking for new tracks it should make you happy. there are a couple good, catchy tracks on there though.

[/ QUOTE ]

Nothing on the new album blows my mind, I'd say there are 3-4 songs on Lights and Antics each that are better than anything on Admire. But, most of the album is still very solid; it just lacks standouts and feels more like a collection of songs than an album. I also saw them in concert recently - sounded even better live.

Since I'm posting, I'll put in another plug for Cold War Kids. Can't stop listening to 'Hospital Beds' particularly.
