About 2 years. But I took a lot of time off. I played about 50k hands at party 3/6, ran about 2.5bb/100. Devoted myself to work and didnt play much poker for about 8 months.
Started playing live poker and found I had a bigger edge. Played 20/40 (30hrs a week)for about 6 months and did good. 2 months ago I started playing 40/80. Ill probably take a few shots at 80-160 during the WSOP(if the games are juicy).

I only played B&M on my way up to 40/80+
2-4: 6 months 3-6: 6 months 6-12, 8-16, 9-18: 9 months 15-30, 20-40: 9 months Then it was 40-80 and beyond.

Started to play poker around 2.5 years ago. 0.5 years played different live freerolls and trying to learn. This starts from my limit experience.
0.5/1 - 7-8K (didn't have PT) 1/2 - 5K 2/4 - 2K moving down 1 1/2 - 3K 2/4 - 20K 3/6 - 7K 5/10 - 2K move down 2 (bought PT) 3/6 - 2K 5/10 6max -2K move down 3 3/6- 5K 5/10 6max - 75K (starting to post and read at 2+2, quitting the job) 10/20 6max - 40K 15/30 6max - 20K (ev was below 1bb/100 and i considered it as too low for me) move down 4 10/20 6max - 5K 15/30 full - around 200K 30/60 - 30K move down 5 15/30 - 15K a year ago: more tables of 30/60 appeared 30/60 - 25K (low ev) 30/60 6max (hunted for full tables with less than 5 players) -25K (low ev in terms of bb/100- moved back to 30/60 full) 30/60 full - 150K 50/100 full - 45K 100/200 full and a bit of short along with 50/100- 30K maybe - move down or switch to NL if catch big streak, maybe not if things continue to run good. So i have had 5 movings back.

Took me 17 years to get up to 100-200, and about 3 orbits to get back down to 30-60.
