Daniel Alaei is a very good player, but who is that Chamanara guy anyhow? Going all in with AJ preflop against Chan was probably the worst play of the season.

I wonder if Ivey really doesn't want to play because of the cameras.

I'm a bit disappointed. No Barry (seriously, if you were a billioner who had to stake someone in that game over a period of 5 years, would you put your money on someone else?), no Ted, no Juanda or Cunningham and no online pros (excluding Alaei).

Oh well, still gonna be fun.

Too bad about Greenstein and Forrest. Everyone else is right, Johnny Chan really added nothing to the game. However one player that I don't think anyone has mentioned and I felt played superb poker was Freddy Deeb. Could Deeb and Chan both have removed themselves because of the 'going south' incident? Chan was a humorless nit - I always thought Freddy was funny and livened up the game.

Obviously I will miss the Hellmuth donk-bet.

Matusow and Laak I'm not thrilled to see - the addition of all these tournament players could be good for the action. Still, I can't imagine they're properly rolled for a game like this, so they might play very tight, Matusow excepted because he's a true degenerate.

Just because you know them from tv that doesn't mean they're tournament players.

OSU, I may be the only person who will ever get that joke...and while I find it funny, it also makes me sad sad sad.

Returning from Season One:
Daniel Alaei
Freddy Chamanara

why??

[/ QUOTE ]

Alaei, I will agree, was pretty uninspiring. But I'm actually glad to see Chamanara back, because it's fun (to me, at least) to see the amateurs line themselves up against the pros. Like watching Buss mix it up in episodes 12 & 13: I was really pulling for him, and I'm actually sorry that he's not coming back. Fred held his own even though Nasseri kept trying to "outplay" him, and other than that rediculous push with AJs, he played pretty well. Mixing in the rich amateurs with the pros makes for an interesting dynamic. The fish and the sharks are not always who one would expect.

Laak plays big NL cash games. In fact I think he's easily one of the favorites in this lineup. He's up against mostly strong limit players, and some tourney players.

lol agreed, Chan was a real drag to the show and a total nit.

[/ QUOTE ]

Thing is, he's like this in normal games ever since he played 4/8 years ago at the Nugget. He's a class A douche that can't dress to save his life.

[/ QUOTE ]

Lots of Chan hate in this thread. Considering the tone of this post, and the fact that he comes off as a pretty likeable guy, I gotta rack this one up to unadulterated jealousy. You should all hope to go from being a "nit" at 4/8 to a "nit" at 4K/8K.
