I'm raising because thats my standard play after a pfr, and for value, and to charge draws.

[/ QUOTE ]
Board is not draw heavy, only a few straight draws.

Your standard play after a PF raise is to raise the flop? Weird.

I think you played it ok.

I might bet $10 on the turn.

Perhaps I'm misunderstanding your post.

When you say "my standard play" do you mean, when you flop a good hand, marginal hand, and air?

Do you not take the texture of the board into consideration?

If the board were 2-tone, for example, I think a raise here has much more merit.

Don't get me wrong, there are plenty of good reasons to raise the flop here, against certain villians, I just thought it was odd that this was your standard.

Seems like there aren't enough draws to worry about, and if I thought there was a good chance he was bluffing or weak, I would want him to keep firing with his KJ or whatever.

what he means is that there are few draws you have to charge, on the flop you are likely Wa/Wb, so a raise here get a lot of weaker hands to fold and stronger hands to call.

its good if villain never gives you credit but against tigher villain perhaps smoothcall is better.

Obviously it depends on board texture, how villain plays, number of people in the hand, my cards, etc. I'm sure you understand.

However, when I raise pf I want the table to fear me. I'll be looking to raise.

For example, if I raised pf with AQ here, I'm raising this flop. Same with QQ or JJ. Maybe this is spew?

IMO this helps my big hands get paid off, as well as maintaining control of small pots.

The answer's in this thread are confusing me. One of the primary concepts that I have learned from this forum is how to play in a WA/WB situation. This river seems like the opitome of a WA/WB situation, no? Don't we want a cheap showdown with top pair type hands. I feel like hero played this hand perfect: He gave incorrect drawing odds to Villian, and practiced good pot control on the end when he is either WA/WB. Is my thinking flawed here?

Of course.

I suppose I can understand this, but I don't think that blind aggression is the key. I play a lot of pots, so this would become very expensive for me very fast if they weren't folding a LOT.

This really does look like spew to me. AQ, maybe. QQ/JJ? What exactly does raising accomplish aside from STRIKING FEAR INTO THEIR HEARTS? I suppose he might fold a weak K... but it's gonna take at least one more shell.

This, I don't doubt. Unfortunately, crap/marginal hands are much more common.

These pots aren't going to be small for long.

Out of curiousity, what are your PF stats like?

Every river is WA/WB.

Either 100%, or 0%.
