Re: Chip Reese
[ QUOTE ]
I am interested to hear specifics on busto. Chip is suppoed to be one of the best $$ managerers around and doyle claims chip is well diversified/invested away from poker to the point of him not playing as much as he used to. Please post known facts on his busto status. [/ QUOTE ] BUSTO = running inside joke example: "Bill Gates plays 3/6 hold'em from time to time." reply- "I heard Bill Gates was BUSTO!!!" |

example: "Bill Gates plays 3/6 hold'em from time to time." reply- "I heard Bill Gates was BUSTO!!!" [/ QUOTE ] Who here hasn't gone through $40 billion a few times while playing 3/6? Variance is just a part of poker. Back on topic, I keep hearing over and over that Chip Reese is the youngest inductee to the poker hall of fame. What did he do to get that honor? Just playing solidly in various high-stakes cash games? |

Re: Chip Reese
I've heard of the guy, just never an explanation of why he's the youngest member of the hall of fame. I'm sure he deserves to be there, but why so early?

Re: Chip Reese
Gates does play 3/6. Only 3/6 and guess what he doesn't tip dealers or wait staff either.

Re: Chip Reese
Why do people believe that? Have any of you ever actually seen him play? It's just hard for me to believe the guy gives millions and millions to charity organizations and doesn't give a dollar to a dealer. It makes no sense, so for me, it's just a rumor started by one of the millions of Gates-haters.

Re: Chip Reese
According to this, the criteria for a HOF spot is:
<ul type="square">[*]A gambler must have played poker against acknowledged top competition.[*]Played for high stakes.[*] Played consistently well, gained the respect of peers.[*] And stood the test of time.[/list] Chip Reese fits those categories to a T. EDIT: By the way, at the risk of sounding caustic, that page with the HOF list and the criteria for getting in is the very first result for a google search for "poker hall of fame" editedit: obviously, I was responding to your other post, the one about Chip Reese's HOF qualifications. I could've sworn I was replying to the right post, but I guess I was mistaken. |

Re: Chip Reese
he visited vegas and never left, he ran $15,000 into 400,000 in like a month in the 70's, and has made something like $100,000,000 in the big game.
