Re: I bought my daughter a star
[ QUOTE ]
So the National Star Registry isn't a legitimate government/scientific organization? [/ QUOTE ] Nope. In college I had an astronomy teacher who would go on 'astronomical tilt' if this subject was brought up. He was upset on two fronts. One, these unscrupulous people were raking in big cash. Two, that people could be duped into thinking that they could basically purchase the ability to name something so important as a star, for $40 or whatever the cost is. |

Re: I bought my daughter a star
[ QUOTE ]
these things are pretty much a scam. basically it's only officially named after your daughter to whomever recognizes the database of the particular company you purchased from. also, I wouldn't be surprised if they resold stars or made them up completely. [/ QUOTE ] I don't think you need to resell any stars, considering that there are billions of them?? There's probably enough to choose from. How can someone sell you something that isnt theirs? |

This has been said about 3 times and each time the same response has to be pointed out to the person. [ QUOTE ] How can someone sell you something that isnt theirs? [/ QUOTE ] They can't thats why when people do that they get in trouble with police officers. |
