Wait, so a SPORTS WRITER doesn't know where he can look up info on current sporting events and injuries. Wow. Just wow.

YOU SHUT YOUR MOUTH HE WAS IN THE FIELD FOR FIVE YEARS FROM THE BOTTOM TO THE VERY TOP

From the linked thread, it appears he was in there asking the tough questions that nobody wanted to ask. He's basically the Mike Wallace of the Reds beat.

I was very disappointed he didn't mention clogging the bases when I mentioned Adam Dunn, also no surprise Toro defended him.
Edit: Please don't fight me Toro.

Seriously, this would be like a doctor asking for help diagnosing the common cold.

nozecandy,

sports writers aren't actually very good at what they do.

edit: for the most part. there are obviously many very good+ ones, some of whom are on 2+2. so it'd be unfair to just sall that ALL sportswriters are teh suck.

And you know what sportswriters do..how? From your days as a reporter (being the expert you are, you clearly worked as a reporter..obviously..right?), you should be able to wax eloquently on the inner workings of a sports department at a major newspaper.

Please share with us so we can hear what someone with that sort of experience thinks..but first, please tell us what major paper you wrote for.

Thanks.

ah the old "you don't do it so you can't possibly comment on it" approach. Full proof.

Rick Reilly: Dude, did Eric Wright play yesterday?

Dude: Not sure man.

Rick Reilly: [censored]! now I can't write that article. It's ok, I'll just explain to the readers that since they aren't writers that it was impossible to find the info.

Dude: Won't they get mad and tell you to research it?

Rick Reilly: [censored] em. They aint sportswriters.
